MANGALORE: Twenty persons were rounded by police after two persons were injured in stone-pelting by anti-social elements on a local hotel, bakery and an electronic shop by took advantage of power failure.

The incident occurred on Friday night. A senior police official claimed situation in this coastal district, which witnessed communal violence last week claiming two lives, remained peaceful.

While adequate police arrangements have been made in the district, prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC would remain in force till Sunday morning, Superintendent of Police B Dayanand said.

The injured have been admitted to a private hospital, Dayanand said.

The district witnessed violence when some Bajrang Dal activists stopped a vehicle transporting cattle to a slaughter house on Wednesday.
